Volunteering at House of Learning (The Q.T.C) is the perfect way to help local people of Moshi whilst exploring various cultures of
Tanzania. Your enthusiasm and support can be the stepping stones to a brighter future for our children.
House of Learning offers a range of services that we hope will make your time here a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Volunteers are committed to fundraising for the House of Learning before coming to Tanzania.  The volunteer acts as a representative and coordinator of the House of Learning, actively raising funds and awareness within their home communities.  We welcome you, the volunteer, to add creatively to this donation effort.  House of Learning hopes that through the combination of volunteering time and fundraising efforts, students of the Kilimanjaro region will find opportunities that were once unattainable for them.

As a volunteer, in gratitude for your time and fundraising, you will receive free accommodations with the House of Learning.  In addition, you are both minutes away from Moshi, a popular tourist town, and at the gateway of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa.  As a volunteer, during your stay you will have the opportunity to visit nearby Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru, the tourist towns of Moshi and Arusha, go on safaris in nearby Tanzanian National Parks (including the Serengeti and Ngorongoro), Amboni Caves, and you are a short flight away from the white beaches of Zanzibar.  Volunteers will receive a Certificate of Participation and a Letter of Appreciation from House of Learning acknowledging their help and support upon completion of their committment.

We need a wide range of volunteers.  In particular, we are currently seeking assistance in the following areas:

·              Teaching: Qualified and experienced teachers are welcome to work with the House of Learning and are encouraged to stay   for longer durations of at least one month but are welcomed to stay even for a year.  We specifically need teachers for Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, English, and French.

·              Extra-Curricular: Our centre lacks extra-curricular programs.  Teachers or volunteers with expertise in teaching music, sports, or other activities are welcomed.  We also need volunteers who can assist in caring for our young children in the nursery.

·              Tutoring: Student volunteers are needed to help with day-to-day studies of our students and to give help within their subject specialties. In particular, English tutoring is greatly needed as the English language is becoming absolutely essential to students in Tanzania.  Most importantly, tutors helping in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, English, and French are welcomed.

·              Fundraising: We need volunteers to help us prepare and launch annual campaigns to raise funds for our centre.  Also, we need volunteers who will be able to organize fundraising events.
